Shipbuilders and repair companies must straighten steel floor and wall panels to correct distortions created during the panel fabrication and welding processes. Once in service, heavy use can also distort the steel. Keeping those massive structures flat is essential for safety, fit, strength and efficiency. Traditionally, straightening was done with flame heating, using a carefully controlled torch to work the distorted steel. More modern yards now use induction heating, which is faster, safer and less likely to damage coatings or nearby structures.
Since big ships are essentially floating cities, every surface, from decks to bulkheads and to hull panels, needs to be both structurally sound and geometrically correct.

Use our single line system (shown here) or save time by using our double line heater. Both heat uniformly and efficiently.

Consistent and reproducible heating thanks to two stabilizing magnets.

Quick-change connection system makes switching from straightening floors to working on walls or beams fast.
In shipbuilding and repair, welding distortion isn’t just common — it’s inevitable. Straightening steel panels keeps vessels strong, aligned and seaworthy. Let us help you find the right technology to get your process done faster, safer and more precise. Contact us today.
